The Merry Outlaw is reimagining community in Kansas City. We’re a social organization with a simple mission. We want everyone in our city to have access to nourishing food and joyful social connection.

Our approach to achieving our goals is one-of-a-kind. Through our storytelling projects, partnerships, and community events, we’re doing more than providing free meals. We’re creating dining experiences that bring people together. We’re gathering at the table and beyond to have the conversations and connections that transform our city.

There are so many generous and talented folks in KC who are ready to make our culture work for everyone who lives here. The Merry Outlaw is harnessing the energy of local grassroots organizations and passionate individuals to tackle the biggest issues of inequity in KC, like food insecurity, homelessness, and gentrification. While we do this important work, we’re committed to fostering community, celebration, and joy.

Social change doesn’t just happen in institutions. It often happens when gathered at the dinner table, having challenging conversations, and delighting in connection. Social change happens in the moment a stranger becomes a neighbor. Our city becomes stronger when spaces are designed with all our needs in mind. We’re actively reimagining how community events, food trucks, restaurants, and resources are used to nourish a community.
